Yay!!! I went to a camp organised by JPS in Kem Tekali from 10Feb to 12Feb. I has a whale of a time there....
Its actually a last minute thing for there is one empty place to fill, somehow i agreed to go. The camp site is located in Hulu Langat. In this rural part of town, I'm quite surprised to find this camp well facilitated. We can play Flying Fox, Kayaking, Jungle tracking, Rappelling, 'Mountain Climbing' and a lot more!!
This camp is basically exciting, all the games and activities were designed to get us to interact and mix around with everyone. And the dynamic games were very demanding and requires a lot of rational thinking, teamwork and interaction. All of these are just what a leader needs.... For my school participants we get to get out of our comfort zone and mix with everyone.
However, (this may be shocking) there are only 13 non-muslim among the 155 participants, out of the 13 there are 5 Chinese, and out of the 5... there are 3 from my school. And the only thing that is not so pleasing about the lectures is that they put Islamic terms into the lecture, which subsequently causes discomfort among the non-muslim.
Besides the downside, the camp is actually quite nice. I'm happy that I am able to take part in this.
